What is the Halifax Seaport Beerfest?

Atlantic Canada’s largest gathering of Craft Beer, Imports & Cider! Breweries and agents will be on hand to sample and discuss 300 unique products. One of the top summer festivals in Halifax, this is an event not to be missed. 

Where is the festival held?

The Beerfest is held in the Halifax Seaport at the Cunard Centre - 961 Marginal Road. This venue boasts 45,000 sq ft. of indoor space and a 375 ft waterfront patio. 

What is included with my ticket?

Festival entry, beer samples (no tickets required), souvenir mug, and great music!
*Excludes any food or merchandise available for purchase inside the festival. 

Are there discount rates for groups or organizations?

Discount rates are available until July 27th, 2018 for groups of 12 or more. Please contact Joanne at

Is there a designated driver program?

Yes, designated drivers are more than welcome and for $12 (tax included) you get entrance to the event and great non-alcoholic options to keep you going! You’ll be asked to leave your ID on file which you collect post event.

Can I bring children or pets?

Sorry, this is a 19+ event and we’re not set up for pets. 

Is food included in the ticket?

Food is NOT included with the ticket however there will be great beer-friendly food for sale from food trucks and local restaurants on site.

Are all beers available throughout the festival?

Even with the best planning, breweries can occasionally run out of very limited or popular beers. As well, some smaller producers are unable to attend all three sessions and these are noted on the beer list where possible. Luckily, with more than 300 unique brands to choose from you’ll never go thirsty!

Does the festival need Volunteers?

Absolutely, we couldn’t do it without you!! See the Volunteer page for details. 

Is there re-entry?

The Festival has a no re-entry policy so please plan accordingly.

What is the smoking policy?

The Cunard Centre is a non-smoking facility. A designated smoking and vaping area is located on the boardwalk in front of the venue.

What will happen to intoxicated guests?

All Festival guests are expected to drink responsibly and ensure they have a safe way home. Any guest who is intoxicated before entering the event may be denied entry. Any guest found intoxicated within the event will be refused further service and asked by management to leave the venue without refund and may be subject to further consequences.

Attendees required to prove age & what is considered a valid ID?

This is a 19+ event. All attendees must carry a valid ID as they may be asked to produce it for verification. A valid ID is a driver’s license, government-issued photo ID or passport.

Will bags be checked at the gate?

All bags will be subject to inspection to ensure the safety of our customers.

What charities are supported by the festival?

Seaport Beerfest has always donated a portion of the net proceeds to various local & national charities. Last year over $5,000 was raised for Prostate Cancer Canada and Adsum for Women & Children.
