Tickets on sale this Friday, May 18 at 11am!
The 12th annual Halifax Seaport BeerFest, Atlantic Canada’s largest craft beer and cider festival and one of the top beer festivals nationally, will take place at the Cunard Centre on the Halifax Waterfront, Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11.
Over 300 craft beers, premium imports, gluten-free beers and ciders will be showcased from Canada and around the world, two-thirds of which are not available for purchase via NSLC stores.
“We’re setting the stage for attendees to sample, discover and learn about craft beer and cider in a fun and social setting,” said Bruce Mansour, festival co-founder. “The industry is thriving and we're proud to display it with an easy-going East Coast spin again this summer!”
The greatest growth and excitement in alcoholic beverages continues to be from local and international craft breweries and cider-makers with new operations opening monthly and demand surging. More than ever before, local brews will be on display at the festival, with dozens of East Coast producers showcasing their unique beers and ciders.
“Atlantic Canada boosts the highest density of breweries per capita and this festival works hard to showcase as many as possible,” said Brian Titus, festival co-founder. “Craft breweries struggle to keep up in the heat of summer, but the fantastic festival environment and the enthusiastic attendees make this a ‘can’t miss’ event for brewers.”
The popular Irish and Maine pavilions will return along with the premiere of a new one - Craft Beers of Iceland! More than a dozen unique Icelandic brews will be featured, and several brewers and brewery owners will be in attendance. There will also be a large range of specialty and premium imports from around the world.
Another unique feature at the Halifax Seaport BeerFest is the strong focus on cider and glutenfree beers. Growing at more than double the rate of craft beer, cider is being discovered in a big way and a full 10% of the festival offerings will be ciders or gluten-free beers.
