Halifax Seaport Cider & Beerfest depends on a small but amazing of volunteers to make the festival happen. Many of our volunteers return annually so we usually only recruit a few new volunteers each year. It is our goal to provide a fun and educational environment for people to experience great beers, ciders, and ‘fizzy drinks’. If you are friendly, outgoing, and interested in participating, here is what you need to know:
To volunteer, email Matt and let him know your shift & role

Getting the festival setup and processing customers Into the festival are the biggest roles now. As the festival has evolved we need very few pourers as most breweries provide their own staff. Once you’ve helped out at Main Gate, we try to give volunteers a chance to pour and enjoy the festival!
These volunteers will work in a team to scan, take or sell tickets, pass out mugs, answer questions, and help guide attendees into the event. After the rush, most will be reassigned to help out the other positions.
The festival has evolved to only require a few pourers now, thus, we rotate volunteers through to enjoy the experience. Volunteers also help set up and organizing beer pavilion, working in a team environment, and providing samples to thirsty Cider & Beerfest attendees!
One volunteer each session is required to sell festival t-shirts and other merchandise to customers. It should be noted that these folks have to work with money – so math is an asset.
This team is dedicated to getting things ready and as you can imagine, there is a lot to do! These volunteers move, prep, generally doing what is needed to make the site ready. This role may include some heavy lifting.
